One of the proposed CSAL logos designed by Merlin Goldman and Claude.
Day/time: 19/02/2026 11am-12pm
Location: Daphne Oram (Eng402)/Teams
Summary
In this meeting, we welcomed some of the master students who are supervised by Anna this year. We had a nice discussion about how AI is used in music through the lense of analysing selected music albums or songs. We also discussed a potential new logo for the lab. Merlin kindly prepared a few options. We agreed that we should ask a professional designer to develop the initial idea further.

Preparation
For the meeting, we asked each lab member to select a music album using AI or a reading about the latest music technology using AI that you like to be ready to present it for one minute each and then have an open discussion on: 1) what’s innovative, 2) what are the ethical implications, and 3) how could this influence our research?
It was possible to share the picks in advance on our Zotero folder C4DM-CSAL.
