Summary

Anna was invited to give a talk about “Making Noise, Making Change: A Feminist Portfolio in Sonic Computing” at the PGR Seminar CCI, a series of talks curated by Prof Sarah Fdili-Alaoui.

Abstract: Feminist approaches to computing ask not just what we build, but who gets to build, for whom, and under what conditions. In this talk, I trace how these questions have shaped my research across sound and music computing, from designing new musical interfaces to live-coding performance to community initiatives supporting women in sound and music technology and computing. This journey has involved navigating questions of positionality and method that bring identity to the forefront of the research and help question the world we live in.
