Anna was invited to give a lecture-workshop to explore creative AI applied to live coding and digital sampling at the AI-Soundscapes Congress organised by Zentrum Pop and hosted by Filmuniversität Babelsberg, Potsdam, Germany.
The talk, “Sampling, Live Coding, and AI: Improvising with Sound-based Data”, presented ideas around sampling, live coding and creative AI.
As part of the talk, Anna presented MIRLCa on the web (MIRLCaweb) developed by Nikhil Dexter Bullock as part of his master’s project supervised by Penny and Anna. This led to a vivid discussion on:
- What is a model?
- What is the intention when training the model?
- How do you want to use it?
- How training a binary classifier works?
- Are good/bad labels enough?
- When to stop training?
Thank you Chandra, Angela, Luise, Zentrum Pop and Film University Babelsberg for the invitation.
